Samsung has started rolling out the global rollout of its One UI 7 update, powered by Android 15, for the budget-friendly Galaxy A15 and A16. The upgrade packs a visual overhaul, smarter security, and standout AI tools like Circle to Search.
The initial rollout began in South Korea and is expected to expand globally including the United States within the next two weeks. This marks the phones’ first major OS update since their Android 14 launch.

Update Availability
The rollout began in South Korea for the 4G models and will expand to other regions soon.
The 5G versions of both devices are expected to receive the update shortly, as they also launched with Android 14 and are eligible for multiple OS upgrades.
What’s New in One UI 7
Performance improvements and smoother animations
Both Galaxy A15 and A16 now run Android 15 bringing smoother performance and battery gains. The One UI 7 also bring smoother animations through out the UI. Samsung promises three more major OS updates for the A15 and five for the A16 to keep them updated.
Circle to Search Takes Center Stage
Thanks to Circle to search AI feature, s can circle any item on their screen to instantly search for related information, making it easier to find answers without switching apps. This feature draws on the best of Samsung AI letting s find info on text images or objects in a tap.
Lock Screen Upgrades
The Now Bar slides into view on the lock screen, showing live info like sports scores or navigation alerts. No need to unlock for bite-sized updates.
Design Tweaks
It brings redesigned Quick Settings and Notification , updated app icons with dynamic colors and unified shapes, smoother animations and improved transitions, and enhanced customization options for a more personal experience.
Privacy First
The update bundles Google’s May 2025 security patch, tightening data protection and app permissions.
Under-the-Hood AI
Beyond Circle to Search, One UI 7 adds tools like Audio Eraser (strip background noise from videos), Writing Assist (text summaries), and deeper Google Gemini integration for voice commands.
How to Get It
Head to Settings > Software Update > and Install. The A15 uses firmware BYD5, while the A16 gets BYE2.
