LG’s software update speed sucks is quite commonly known. Maybe owing to this the company decided to set up a dedicated software update center in its home country.

Well, whether the update center bore any fruit or not, it cant be inferred now because it was set up when the Android Oreo was already more than half a year old. The speed with which the company rolls out the Android Pie update to its devices would determine whether it was of any use or not.

Moving ahead of this, LG has started the rollout of the Android 8.0 Oreo update for the LG G6, LG’s last years’ first flagship offering, s.

LG had earlier started the rollout of the LG Oreo update for the LG V30+ in India, their second flagship for 2017. The update brought AI capabilities to the device and gave it the LG V30 ThinQ branding.

The LG G6 Oreo update also brings AI capabilities to the device, thereby giving it the ThinQ branding also.

The update carries the build number OPRR1.170623.032. It has a size of 1816.61 MB and along with Android Oreo comes with July Security Patch dated 1st July 2018.
